C O N N E C T I O N - Thats it, thats the secret! To win over clients you NEED to speak to THEM and make a connection with them. This is the ONLY way of building BRAND TRUST for your clients. It is essential to create a lasting first impression, as in this day and age, you only get one chance to get that client to push that button to commit. Create that connection & MAGIC will happen.
When I first connected with Kristy via email, I sensed a fun, quirky and excited energy, bursting to pop, but maybe at times too shy to do so. As we discussed her business, her BRAND & her PERSONALITY, I knew I had to capture this in the images I shot for her, as lets face it - there are hundreds of businesses that do what she does, BUT there is only ONE Kristy Morton!
And this is exactly what we set out to do - Kristy loves spending time with her Hubby Glen & their 3 gorgeous daughters (all under 4 years), enjoys yummy breakfasts (that she didn’t make), coffee (and tea, but coffee mostly), getting out in the sun, the occasional wine & of course making plans to rule the world (using a spreadsheet as a base, yep – a spreadsheet! When Kristy quit her corporate job after 10 years in the same job and started Kristy Morton Consulting, she was faced with lots of hard truths . . .
Kristy says, "I realised there is so much to know about having an online business – things such as what is hosting, what’s a theme (do I need one?!), how do I change my font, why is my formatting weird…and so on… There are also so many places you can go to find answers. How do you know who is right? You can spend hours googling “how to format paragraphs in Wordpress” without finding anything useful out, except that you really don’t understand code and you probably don’t want to.
Luckily for me – I have a secret weapon – a husband who is a computer programmer. It made me think though, not everyone has this at home? And if you don’t – who do you go to for help? So I wanted to create a place where everyone is comfortable asking ANY questions about the online world! Where I can be a link between the “techy” and the “normal folks speak”.
And this point-of-difference is EXACTLY what we needed to capture - Kristy is above all else a mum, just like so many other amazing small business women in Perth, with the same day-to-day struggles and worries. So we set out to capture the helpful, knowledgable, approachable, down-to-earth, non-tech talking Kristy and all of her loves. These images speak Kristy's BRAND & emotionally CONNECT her to potential clients through TRUST and AUTHENTICITY.
